Most people start learning through the process that is familiar with stories and narrative conventions in their language and quickly transfer this familiarity into a willingness to listen to and participate in stories in English.
Stories provide a natural, relevant, and enjoyable context for exposure to language and an opportunity to familiarize people with the sounds, rhythm, and intonation of English. The discovery and construction of meaning are supported through things such as visuals, gesture, voice, and characterization.
Through listening and responding to storytelling and doing short, introductory drama activities, people can use, sounds, and gestures, to show their understanding, make connections between language and corporal expression, as well as appreciating other cultures. This has a positive effect on individual motivation, confidence, and self-esteem.
Please be advise that the initiative may subject to funding support.
